12x1.75? are you sure on that, I can find the more common 1.25 coarse and 1.5 fine rod (external thds) and the 1.75 as barrels (internal thds). Do you use both left and right or are they all right hand thread?

Was that one of the extreme use hyme joints or an aluminium unit? If the former instead of the latter I would be in fast contact with the place that sold it to you. just put it in gear and hold the rear brake. once all the chains and gears bind up it will torque.

I have to agree with all the reply's here. If my turbo just 'blew up' I'd be calling the last person that rebuilt it to perform an autopsy to explain why. You have done so many of the sites turbos that if there truly was an issue, it would have manifested itself long before now.

Those are specific to the turbo, no other bike in this genra came factory with full covers. IE roll the engine on the generator side counterclockwise while tightening the tensioner bolts by hand till the tensioner is seated ...

I wasn't trying to nit pic and did read that it still needed lipstick and mascara before completion. I didn't realize that the default scheme was basic php though. Changing it over as suggested looks more apropiate. Carry on and keep up the good work.

Theoretically it should be replaced as you won't get even crush on the gasket. Should be readily available on ebay. Not sure if they are still available new.

You don't really need to clean the carbon off as it won't affect anything, it is there because the last few rides were to easy, gotta beat on it once in a while to burn off the carbon, but if you do want to clean it out, use a brass bristle brush on the housing external to the turbine wheel, do it ...
