Board upgrade

Hold onto your helmets, I'm going to attempt a major board upgrade sometime over Christmas and it might get rough. It's been at least 10 years since I did one, so it's more than a little overdue.

Pros:
The new board will ultimately look the same as this one but will rescale itself automatically to make it easily readable on phones and tablets without you having to use a third party app like Tapatalk.
It will be more secure.
It will have some extra features.
Potentially you could be able to flip between light and dark modes.

Cons:
I might fuck it up. I'm not a programmer. I have a backup from today so if necessary I can restore this. You might lose any posts you make from today to when the upgrade is either completed or abandoned.
The board might be unavailable for a while.
It might look different for a while. The red bits might turn green. This won't be permanent.

Don't panic.

As I mentioned, cosmetic issues are still to be resolved. If you head for your user control panel at ucp.php?i=165 and select "Turbo Red" as the style you should see something much closer to the old style.

I wasn't trying to nit pic and did read that it still needed lipstick and mascara before completion. I didn't realize that the default scheme was basic php though. Changing it over as suggested looks more apropiate. Carry on and keep up the good work.

The default scheme is set to Turbo Red, so it would be useful to know if members are seeing this or ProSilver, which is the phpbb default. Anyone?

Was prosilver last night and was like ohoh!! But now back to the black red! Which like better myself.

Yeah it's getting there. Still some green bits to track down in the CSS, not all the hovers change colour correctly and I haven't tested attachments yet.

Try it on your phone though, it's way better than it was.

Much better on the phone. A lot more menus available easily
Refresh rate is faster especially when previewing posts. It used to hang up before.
It's good to see something positive with recent events in UK

Looks like the upgrade has removed the registration question I had in place (what cc is the bike) in favour of a simple Captcha which bots can read. Either that, or we've suddenly started attracting female members out of the blue after 20 years...
