Just got burned off from the lights, what can I do?

Is race mode really that good? I just got absolutely thrashed with a cbr1000rr about an hour ago, we really can't have that happening

I used to find that exposing my CZ75 or the Taurus .38 Special Snubbie in a nice leather shoulder rig would usually put off anybody driving in front of me.
There's more besides, joyrides and a little house in the countryside.
Get the balance right.

True, but at night, my .357 mag doesn't show so well, being in a standard side holster and all. My jacket covers most of it.
I could always investigate the nos side of life... I wonder

My Taurus was stainless steel so showed up quite well, even in the dark.

In my experience, you need to practise your launches, as this will give you a speed advantage all the way up to 100mph.
If you havent enabled race mode yet, why are you bitching when someone who has added a turbo to a modern bike has probably already got 20% more poke than the restricted ponies from your old battleaxe.
Race mode, bigger turbo, 810 conversion etc etc etc.... get it done dude!

1984 ZX750E1 (needs a few little bits), 1984 ZX750E1 being built (810 motor on the floor), 1986 GPz810 (Debben head, turbo chassis, longer, lower, dirty and black), 1995 ZZR1100 D3, 1987 GPz750 in black, red and silver.

Or else just tell the powers that be that a non-standard turbo-charged vehicle is on the road. Seeing as they are now no longer allowed that should remove the problem.
Which I know is just not on and I don't really recommend.
Wind up the revs to 10,000 and watch the boost gauge rise. Lean forward as much as possible and drop the clutch (or rather let it out in a controlled manner). Try to keep the front wheel on the ground and don't let the rear spin too much. After some practice it is soooo much fun. That is one way to try to give them a run for their money. Their reaction - priceless.

What does stockish 750turbo run in 1/4 anyway?
Re: Just got burned off from the lights, what can I do?
11.1-11.3 ish.
First to 200mph (2006) and still the fastest (211mph)
Quickest turbo-only 8.69 @ 162mph

Not a change against current litre bikes, even without turbo.
It's like some bloke with 60's 911 Porsche, he said it's no use racing, it takes a few seconds to change a gear for the old lady

That is a mean looking bike there, I'm thinking of following the advice I received somewhere else on here to go black and candy apple red.JezZedexE1 wrote:Or else just tell the powers that be that a non-standard turbo-charged vehicle is on the road. Re: Just got burned off from the lights, what can I do?
I have an 05 CBR1000RR and it is pretty much box stock, and my 750 turbo (Race mode, K&N on TC, opened exhaust) although a lot of fun, will not come close to the power of the modern CBR. My CBR is much faster to the point it scares me!
Re: Just got burned off from the lights, what can I do?
I dont think my old E2 standard went as well as the CBR1000F even, 135 hp, but we are talking about bikes that are 20 yrs apart. As I remember it there is nothing like the rush of that turbo coming on song,
should know soon, only 2-3 months to go then
I was doing a lot of travelling down to the big smoke (Sydney) at one time
and remember getting razzed by a ZZR 1100 and also a GSXR 750 at lights, so thought screw you and havent seen them since, hopefully they are still suffering turbo shock
Also had the shits with asshole drivers in hotted up cars. Dropped a fake hand grenade in one drivers window at the lights and the terrified look on his face as I left will remain with me forever

Re: Just got burned off from the lights, what can I do?
Our bikes when introduced in 1984 SET THE RECORD FOR STOCK PRODUCTION 750CC CLASS AT 10.73 That was fast then,I'm not a drag racer but this guy is running a newer, crisper modified bike. It's only fair that one of the top 5 guy's listed on this forum smoke his ass.
Now H*nda 1000cc Hurricane running stock could not out run my 810cc Turbo in 1987 or 1988,the run across the Mississippi River Bridge is 3.5 miles. But that was a long time and my only change other than boost and 810 was to run a 38 tooth rear, and my launch. We were running 70mph roll-on.And my weight,no mufflers and my rather narrow 158lbs against his 200plus.
These newer bikes are lighter and faster, so consider your weight, and your red line as I'm sure the newer machine is pulling higher rpm quicker.
And as has been said,3000-5000 dollars, pounds, coins, bills will create the speed you need, but the investment has to be made or the tail light you will see.
And all you gun toting guys amaze me,I thought they took away your gun rights? Which is wrong, but how do you get by wearing holsters? Here it is called the right to carry, any 21year old non felon has the right to take a class and wear a side arm period, our crime rate dropped 60% since the southern and western states started obeying our rights.
