help setting pc3 throttle position

Post by ric77 »

i'v been trying to set tp close position through the pc3 , i put a light vacume on map sensor went to the utilities page were you set throttle full open and full close selected throttle close button and typed in (0) i then pressed the ok button , went back to the setup page removed the vacume and throttle reads at 80%. . shouldn't it read zero or a neg#?, thanks for any help.

ric77,
I haven't set mine up yet,but I have read up a little bit,did you also set up the boost as outlined in the installation procedure for 100% throttle? First add vacuum, then add pressure.

Correct. The PC already knows zero throttle (boost) is 0 and max is 100%, you don't need to type any numbers in.

You could also check that you have 1.5 volts on the signal wire and zero boost (assuming you have rescaled the boost sensor, if not it will be 2 volts), just to make sure it's wired up right.

my next problem is that its running to rich , using 370cc injectors with the map you had posted lorcan and i keep fowling out plugs trying to get it to run long enough to ride to were a dyno is to map it correctly. lorcan can you tell me did you have a problem at idle with fowling plugs using the 370cc injectors even with the powercommander ? tomorrow I will start decreasing more fuel through the existing map to sees if i can get it to run long enough hope it works .

No problems at all with plugs, you are on stock fuel pressure (36psi) right? And the PC is showing as 0% throttle while idling (or possibly a minus figure)?

ok i just checcked my fuel pressure reg and it was set at 50 psi no wonder the fucking thing running pig rich , so i set back to stock psi , put some fresh plugs in it and ran it for about 5 min at idle , removed the plugs to check them and they look so nice and tan . its the little things that fuck you some times thanks lorcan for mentioning fuel press, so its off to the dyno for tunning next week . will post results thanks to all.

Excellent, make sure your dyno man is used to fuelling turbos and get the runs on a memory stick if you can. It would be nice to get a few run files from similar bikes and overlay them.

Hi,
today i want to set the throttle position , first ONLY the o position because in dount find my air-pump  :

- i load the PCIIIUSB program
- i switched on ignition
- at the screen i see 0% throttle and the number in the middle is about 7000
- i sucked at the hose and the number in the middle goes to about 4600
- i press the the button and no the left number also about 4600, i think thats ok .
- But now the Throttle position shows 14%

Repeat : Befors sucking = 0 % / about 7000
after sucking = 14 % / 4600 i think that is not okay !?

I dont have set the 100% position yet

That's fine. Remember it's not throttle position you are setting, it's boost. Sucking on the sensor simulates low pressure, like on a closed throttle.

14% is ok.

When you set the 100% you should set it at 30-32psi.

Do you have a Idea how i can see the pressure that i have when i set the 100% , because when i pump in the sensor with a airpump the pressure is quick away and i cant see the pressure so quick :D
