OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator modification

Post by Philb »

After fitting a fuel pressure gauge I’m getting a fuel pressure reading of less than 30psi (static) and it’s not moving if I rev the throttle so I suspect that my FPR is not playing nicely.
(I have an aftermarket pump fitted… not sure what make as it came with the bike & there’s no ID on it…. It looks like a Walbro…. All hoses are new & in good condition.

Does anyone have photos or a ‘how to’ on modifying an OEM FPR for manual adjustment?
I have tried searching the forum but some of the photo links are dead as they were from way back…

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Keep in mind that the fpr is boost dependent, so just reving the engine is not likely going to change fuel pressure much.

It’s not achieving anything like what the manual says.

Is it a ebay pressure gauge or reputable company one?

I’ll put some photos up once I’ve got it fitted & working.
I’ll probably paint it black to ‘blend in’.

Fitted the Malpassi fuel regulator under the tank where there is plenty of room.
I decided not to mount it under the injector body as it was too tight a fit, adjustment would be difficult & it looked shite tbh.
I used two P-Clips to attach the regulator to the frame and rerouted the fuel pipes & vacuum pipe.
Adjustment of the regulator is easy enough as you just lift the tank slightly to adjust the regulator.
