Hi everyone, this is a great site full of useful information. I acquired one of these bikes about 5 years ago and have only just started to work on it (Covid etc got in the way). The bike is an E1 model and has been well looked after with all original parts. It has a smoky exhaust and noisy clutch which seem to be common issues from what I can see here. Sounds like a project !!!

The things you mention have been discussed here on a variety of posts, so with a bit of digging about you should find the possible causes and solutions.

One other useful thing to do is add you geo-location to you profile, which helps others when it comes to sourcing parts, etc.

Guys, thanks for the arrival greetings. I have worked on many Saab Turbo cars for repairs, maintenance and performance tuning and also aircraft engines, so familiar with the tech. The turbo set up on these bikes is fairly basic and I can see where some of the issues reported on the site could originate from. Big Advantage of the bike is easy access to working on it though
