Good Afternoon,
I am new member reconditioning a 1985 Turbo.
Turbo was removed and bike not running when purchased.
I had Turbo refurbished and reinstalled with aftermarket exhaust no muffler.
Inside fuel tank flushed and added in-line filter (retained original as well).
Changed fluids, filters, new battery and plugs.
Bike fired up right away and sounds amazing.
Problem:
Bike revs fine from idle.
While riding runs great till 5,000 rpm then surges and will not rev.
Bikes charging per voltage gauge.
Assume is fuel related but not sure going to check petcock and filters.
Suggestions please

Good start getting it running good! Did you have the injectors rebuilt? They likely are not working very well if they sat all those years. :popcorn

Wonder if the inline filter you put in is restricting the flo. Seems odd that it runs good then cuts out.

Welcome aboard :beer

I have found there's at least one gas station in my area that my turbo simply won't run right after fueling there , never had a problem with my truck . Happened twice and resulted in me draining the fuel and putting 93 in from a different source.

But riturbo could also be on to something....
