Standard Forks with Maxton internals

Post by gpzrfan »

Hi,
I can highly recommend Maxton (UK based) for fork internals. You need to blank off the anti dive but other than that you keep the standard look

Maxton are well known on the classic race scene and road racing such as IOM TT and the many Irish road races etc so very well proven kit

With the SD20 type you get rebound and compression damping adjustment, The spring rate is chosen to suit the weight of the bike and also the rider weight.
I have fitted these to my Turbo, GPZ900R and Z650 and feel they are worth the investment

SD20 CARTRIDGE OVERVIEW :
•Modern Separate Damping cartridge
•Improved oil flow for better damping performance
•All damping adjustment at the top of the fork for easy access
•20 clicks of rebound damping adjustment
•20 clicks of compression damping adjustment
•New design preload adjuster for quicker adjustment
•Hard chromed damper rods for smoother cartridge action
•Silicone Chrome fork springs chosen to suit your weight
•Machined from 6082 T6 and 7075 T6 Alloy
•Hard anodised to prevent wear and prolong life of sliding components
•Built to order, to suit each bike and each riders weight

You can also match these with a new NR4 rear shock

Not cheap ! £495 for the cartridges , if they have the forks they do a service fit new seals and bushes etc @ £665

The NR4 rear shock is £435

You would need to factor in an carriage charge and import tax etc outside of the UK

I think its money well spent, you can keep the standard looks if that what you want & avoid a lot of re engineering involved in uprating to other forks
