750 Turbo Rally 2017

Post by Charlie @ Evergreen »

Hey guys...I plan on trying to put this together again for 2017 especially now that I am feeling more like myself after the accident. Would really love to do it every year to keep the 750 Rally's boosting along :thumbup

Hoping things get straightened up around here with my sons help by end of November.....then would like to try to put the Rally 2017 together.

I would like suggestions for places to ride so can investigate the accommodations for the area. Also if spring is better or fall?? This leaves a nice window of opportunity for us to put this together. After doing some research if this can get started in December is this enough time for those that would like to attend ??

Throw some idea's at me if you have suggestions....many of you know your area's that have great roads for riding. Each year would be good to try a new venue for our Rally's.
Like the idea's of having Rally shirts every year posting the Rally year with 750 turbo.com ...nothing like keeping these 750's making them a legend.

Thoughts guys??? Lets try to get this together! Tom I would love to do it with you if you want to get involved or I help you either way :banana

Opened a new Topic for the 2017 Rally :thumbup

Charlie, you are the man. You know I will do whatever I can to help and maybe add a little something like the key tags for last time, even if I can't make it myself. Tom/George I read your post on the other one. It's the right thing to do to put family first. But if I make it you guys will be missed for sure, had a lot of laughs and great riding with you guys last time. That first nights ride with the dragon fly's lighting up our path, and the fog rolling in off the river is something I will never forget. :victory

Deerslayer64d, nothing against the lone star state at all, but I have been through there many times, top to bottom and the ridding doesn't compare to the area up in Tennessee, North Carolina. I surly hope you can attend this time. If you do, you may not want to go back though  Of course if it was to happen out your way, I would be game for that to :victory

Charlie, you asked for ideas so, here goes. I think the springish time is better for 3 reasons, 1 you won't have to worry about an early winter before we get there and the changing of the leaves, although beautiful it can be treacherous for motorcycles, 2 I believe we would have less chance for bad weather, because hurricane season would be over, and mostly all we would have to worry about is some pop up storms, and last but not least number 3 it would happen sooner :victory who wants to wait until this time next year.

So there is my 2 cents, talk soon.

Oops, forgot to talk about the area. I am open to anywhere up there, and if people want you can always take a day a go ride a specific area, most likely others will want to go as well, like the dragon. I know some guys from that area, to them the dragon might be old news, but I for one would like to ride it again just because is a blast, and hanging out at the start shooting the shit and looking at the bikes is something I could do for the rest of my life.

That being said, last time there was some talk of Maggie Valley, it's a little higher up in elevation and some of the guys familiar with the area said there was a lot of good riding. So there is one suggestion, I will research the area when I can, and I am sure others will chime in.

Oh, now I went and started something  Like I said, no offense to our great lone star state, I have been through it on a motorcycle twice, went off the beaten path a little, ridden up in the El Paso area, as big as it is I sure there are plenty of great places to ride. I have also driven through there so many times I have lost count, all of my family is on the west coast of the united states.

That being said, again this is just for me, there is just no comparison. The Turbo rally (and many, many other rally's) have been held in the area we had it last year many times. The reason is because the great Smokey mountains, Blueridge, Cherokee nation forest area, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia is unbelievably beautiful.

People come from all over the world just to ride that area, it is literally world famous. But this is just for me, some people love Kansas :wanker Wherever we as a group decide to have a rally is where I will be trying to get to :victory
