School me on fork rebuild

Post by Deerslayer64d »

I read Kevin's post but it really don't answer my question ,
Who makes the best rebuild kit for the stock forks ? I'm wanting to rebuild mine but not sure what's best ? Progressive? Works ? Or other and are there complete kits with seals and -O- rings ?
Thanks in advance

what springs you use depends on your intended riding style, mine are standard but im not an aggressive rider and i find them to be good enough and i have the anti dive set up and working as it should.if i was riding abit harder i would probably go for progressive springs. i would also use progressive springs if i was not using the anti dive units.

as for decent bushes etc best ones are from kawasaki, there are some kits on ebay and other site of the like.whether they have all the seals you need or not i dont know but best have a look on your side of the pond.

Yes Kawasaki for seals and bushes.

I think that you should be able to tune the forks to your needs with more or less oil, adding air, etc, but I do have progressive springs in mine
1984 ZX750E1 (needs a few little bits), 1984 ZX750E1 being built (810 motor on the floor), 1986 GPz810 (Debben head, turbo chassis, longer, lower, dirty and black), 1995 ZZR1100 D3, 1987 GPz750 in black, red and silver.

Thanks for the replys ! My anti dive is Functional but it too will get some needed attention when I rebuild the forks , I'm not real Aggressive rider but I do like the Windee twisty roads in the Hillcountry :humour
I will search out the Kawasaki seals and Bushings and look into the progressive springs :beer
I did get set up with a real nice works rear shock from a buddy :) not sure what els there is to do As far as dependability I've done fuel pump, injectors , break lines " turbo" oil pan mods , rear shock and now starting the front forks , I guess after this new tires will be next :)
