Should I use high octane fuel in my turbo?

Q. I can get "high octane" fuel locally, will it make my bike faster?

A. If the bike is running stock boost it won't make it any faster, and could possibly make it slower. High octane fuels generally contain less heat energy than regular unleaded. With increased boost high octane fuel will help resist detonation, which is uncontrolled burning of the fuel. Running increased boost without detonation is the key to making more power.
