First map

Post by Bigredzed »

I have 340 injectors fitted.

To get the standard flow of 270 I'd have to run them at approx 80%

So do I just put -20% in every box on the PC map as something to start with.

Thanks

You can do that, yep :D

Another (probably dumb) question.

Cutting the brown wire activates race mode.

Adding a resistor modifies the race mode fueling by +/- 20%

From the given equation to calculate the K factor 1.2Kohm gives 20% lean, 5.2Kohm gives 20% rich and 2.8Kohm gives no adjustment to the race fueling.

No resistor would be 20% leaner than race fueling (as it states that this is the lowest it could be altered).

My question how much richer (if it is richer) is race mode fueling above standard fueling with the K factor at 1 (2.8Kohm resistor)?

My injectors are 20% bigger than stock so would I need to put a larger figure than -20% to compensate for the race mode mod'. (or use a resistor)

More questions.

Whilst looking into my faulty boost sensor, available alternatives are all 5V sensors. To make it compatible with the ECU the 0-5v would need to be amplified to the input required by the ECU (0-8v). I've done a quick search on electronic sites and it seems quite simple and cheap to make an op amp using a 741 IC and a couple of resistors. An amp with a gain of 1.2 would give the required voltage increase. If a variable resistor was used the gain could be adjusted to trick the ecu into thinking boost levels were higher thereby increasing the fuel delivery. Has anybody tried this method to fine tune the fueling? Would it actually work?

Don't run a resistor, you don't need one and there's no advantage to running one if you are already running a PC.

I can't help with your second question, but it's a good idea.
