Well, while working on the bike today I brushed up against the ride side and snagged the freaking wire coming out of the pulse coil.
And of course it is so close to the block, there is no way to salvage even a millimeter of the wire to solder it. But maybe I can
use a utility blade to trim around the wire to expose JUST ENOUGH to get some solder on it....
But in the mean time I'm scoping out a replacement....

There are probably igniters from a couple of models that will do if you cannot sort yours, normal gpz750 springs to mind but dont discount gpz600r or even gpz900 & gpz1100

I researched those models...
The GPZ 550 and 750 are normally asperated and have no fuel injection or electronics. So the pulse coil is different.
While the GPZ 1100 has a similar electronic control system with fuel injection like the Turbo, it's pulse coil is a different part number. With no specs to compare, one cannot evaluate the difference. I mean if it was only 1ohm or 1milliamp off or something like that it might still work but there are no specs to compare.

okee dokee, I would have no issue fitting pickups with this part number 59026-1026, I have a set of these pickups that a mate is using on a gpz1240 motor but if you want I could get them back for a test on my turbo if you are not sure, I have used them on a Z650 with standard engine & N/A gpz 750 motor with no issue

Re: Wanted To Buy See Pic
THAT is good news and thanks for your research and time and effort on this.
I am experimenting as well. I found a set of pickups on ebay for a fuel injected 1984 GPZ 1100 that I think will work.
On our bikes the part number is xyz and the GPZ 1100 is abc so I wondered what is the difference. Then I noticed on our pickups, the oil pressure sensor wire is in the harness and on the 1100 its not. So maybe that is why the part number is different....if that is the only difference and all the electrical specs are the same...should work. I hope. Thanks.

I think the only difference between the NA750 and the Turbo part is the oil pressure switch wire.
Having looked at the Turbo manual, a lot of the checks/tests (P5-2) say refer to base manual P371 and even further back.
The other noticeable difference is the rotor, which we know. That will not be changed anyway, so not an issue.
I have a couple of spare pick-ups here, I HAVE checked the resistance. Average 0.47 K-Ohms
I will follow the way shown in this video posted in viewtopic.php?t=15290&start=15
If you have a read through all 3 pages/37 posts of it , there may be some information which helps.
No hair dryer will be used though.
