Boost gauge preference

Post by JezZedexE1 »

I have been looking at getting another boost gauge and have seen plenty of options.

What, if any, is the benefit or purpose to have one that goes up to 35 PSI or 30, if the aim is to run the bike at 11-13? 0-20 PSI would be nice, but I have not been able to find one. US & Aus have a couple which are close.

Is there any need for one that shows vacuum?

Did some digging about and found a couple which look like decent options. Lower boost number and no vac.

The one thing different is the air-line, which is 1/8” NPT compression fitting. Will this, using the supplied 1/4” NPT adapter, work and allow me to connect it in the same way I have got the current one fitted, to the spare outlets on the throttle body? One will need a power supply and the other works without power.

Just a thought...I usually use VDO gauges but did a test and used a Speed Hut Digital LED showing what boost your at ie if at 15 lbs showed a well lit up 15 LED on gauge.. Very easy to see. Its a electronic set up easy to install.. the boost gauge read same as mechanical when tested them both hooked up so its accurate. :thumbup

I liked that with how fast things happen on a 750 turbo you see a very clear number not trying to read a gauge sweep under hard boost. :beer
