9 blade turbine shaft assembly is available on flee bay.
I remember reading Charlie was working on getting this customized design to be made .
Was wondering, do we have any kind of indication or dyno measurements of performance benefits by going to 9 blade vs 11 blades?
An 11 blade turbine would probably spool up faster vs more topend with 9 blade design as it would be more free flowing and a bit lighter as well.
Unless the 11 blade design does not really limit topend performance, in that case we will just lose bottom end performance.
Have several 9 blade designs had manufactured for several applications from Porsche to Kawasaki. I ran the Garrett T25 turbine shaft machined to fit the HT10 on my personal bike and it had boost hitting hard by 4000RPM. When ran the 32mm bigger header it was slower in boost response but went back to the modified 28mm OEM header and it was super respsonvie and pulled straight thru top end. On Porsche turbos one example the boost response was almost 500 RPM faster hitting full boost from (3500 down to 2900)
The other thing changed your see they sell the shaft nut with the turbine wheel. Had it designed with a Left Hand Shaft Nut vs the standard back in the day Right Hand Shaft Nut.

Thanks
So in your experience the 9 blades actually offered better responsivenes? Maybe the weight reduction also plays a role in this..
I would have expected the 11 blade design to offer better responsiveness in bottom range, but I never tried other turbines so no experience with that. :-)
I did see one car topic comparing 9 vs 11 blade (different turbo) dyno runs, with the 11 blade increasing bottom range by quite a bit, while 9 blade didn't offer that much more topend. But so many dependencies, might be different for the gpz.
Combination of changes. Lighter, 9 blade less back pressure, smaller hub which makes the blade area actually larger. Overall you have lighter turbine wheel with more efficient flow.
