Re: Battery
I've used this battery on a number of my bikes over the last 15 years or so...Motobatt MBTX14AU
Re: Battery
not familiar with this. I have a dry cell on an 1100 unitrac, no issue with the battery but the sensor that pushes into the battery is redundant. The battery warning is constantly flashing, which is a pain, is this the case with this battery?

Re: Battery
Unfortunately so. Apparently there is a minor modification to overcome the sensor flashing. I keep meaning to do it myself, it's referred to on this forum somewhere.
Re: Battery
I did a search and now I can't find the thread despite saving it as a book mark!
Anyway, Apparently, the sensor can be fooled by connecting the wire to the positive on the battery, Some have warned that this is sending 12v to something that should only receive 6v. Some put a 2.5amp fuse in line, but others also put a resistor inline. My question is; is the resistor necessary or will the 2.5amp fuse do on its own? I would put the fuse in line but if it requires much more work, i would either live with the flashing warning or I would revert to lead Acid.
Any advice?

Re: Battery
A fuse will not change/affect the voltage. If it blows, the light will start flashing again. A Resistor or voltage converter regulator is a better choice. Easy to find info using search engine on the web.

Re: Battery
I understand the fuse won't reduce voltage, but may offer protection. I'm just looking for an easy way out. Starting to look like fitting a lead acid is as easy as it gets. How much better are the AGM batteries?
