So Thursday night I geared up and headed west in to O town. The first 20 miles is nice, flat and straight, but almost no traffic. Once in O town it's bumper to bumper with some places 4 lanes wide. I ride a little on the offensive side in traffic like that and had a pretty good time. Riding in traffic like that has it's own kind of fun, it's just not something I like to do all the time. All went well and I picked up my shorts and headed home. 83 miles round trip, and it had already rained so it was a little cooler out and turned out to be a really nice ride.
Meanwhile I was trying to set up a ride for today and invited pretty much everyone I know that has a bike. I got 3 takers, so we meant at my house this morning at 6AM, I had coffee and doughnuts ready and at about 6:45 kickstands were up. My Nephew and his wife on his Busa, my soon to be son-in-law on his 2007 H@nd@ shadow 750 (He has only been riding for 2 weeks, and this is his starter bike. He wants a 636 but wanted to start off a little slower. Smart kid) and one younger guy from work also a new rider, a few months under his belt, on a bran new 2018 636. We started by going up on North Merritt Island through the national wildlife refuge (Out where they do all the launches) beautiful ride. Hit Maytown road another really pretty ride and ended up in Osteen, for breakfast. From there we headed back a little quicker route to try and beat the rain and heat. as we got closer to home I lead the Busa, and the shadow 750 through my old stomping ground, about 15 miles of back streets, sharp turns and less traffic. Not too fast as to not loose them. All went well and everyone had fun, and made it back safe. I am really happy with the Turbo. Between the newly refurbished front forks, with the progressive springs, and new front rotors and EBC double HH Sintered pads, the ZR7 rear shock, ZZR 600 duel piston rear caliper, bran new disc, and double HH sintered pads, and the new / used ZX6R rear wheel, the bike handles and brakes way better. As many of us already know the turbo in stock form is a little heavy and you have to kinda push it to get it to go into a corner. Now my bike flicks into the corners with a lot more ease. The rear wheel really made a big difference, more than I ever expected it to. I will be able to ride it a lot faster in the twisty's and not get as tired. It doesn't feel like a heavy bike any more. Oh, and the Bilt shorts work great. We did 125 miles and I was ready to keep going, and my butt didn't hurt at all
