That's funny! The surrounding mountain runoff is much saltier than ocean water anyway.Lorcan wrote:Thanks for the comprehensive update Jim, perhaps all is not lost after all. One of our crew said the other day "they just need to pump seawater onto it". Then I mentioned it was 4500 feet up...

So all they need to do is pump rain water up the mountains?
First to 200mph (2006) and still the fastest (211mph)
Quickest turbo-only 8.69 @ 162mph

Yer funny! Never looked at that way before! Well, guess one could do that but not sure how effective it would be as the water has to leach through before it floods the salt plane.Lorcan wrote:So all they need to do is pump rain water up the mountains?
Did you hear the SCTA has prepped and groomed three courses? An eight long course, a five mile short course, and a three mile rookie course are what are available at this time. That short eight mile long course leaves out the fast streamliners but for the rest of us, Yaaay!!

Oh. So you're saying borrow Dirck's bike then. Got it.
I had plans to go to Maxton ten years ago that got interrupted by babies. Now they do the mile in OH which is even closer to me . I think I'll go to the Sept meet and see what that's all about.

For some reason I believe he wouldn't go along with your idea!
Since you are considering an airport LSR venue, why not head up and over to Bonneville? Much more to see in the pit action, however, one is much closer to the race vehicles during their runs in airport LSR.
Let's take Mojave as an example. Approximately 200 yards separate the pits from the racer at the finish line. One is 1/4 mile away from the racer on his run while sitting along side the track in the pit area.

Yep, hearing the same! Still haven't decided which venue. I might hook up with Sims for ease of transport(haven't discussed with him or Mike yet) for the Speed Trials but if Mike & Ryan(Ryan is Sims son and pits for Mike) decide to attend WOS, that's the one I'll be at. I'll look for you.OzBooster wrote:Reports of the salt look good Jim, see you out there hopefully
