Hello, and welcome to 750turbo.com. This site is all about the 1984/5 Kawasaki 750 turbo motorcycle, the fastest and best factory-built turbo bike. If you own one of these special machines, we'll try to help you to look after it, restore it, make it go faster or handle better, and appreciate what makes it special. If you don't own one, maybe we can convince you that you should! Take a look around to learn more about the bike, it's history and future, and talk to owners from around the world in the forum. This site is free to use. If you have technical questions about the bike, please use the forum to ask them - please don't email us unless it's about the site itself. You'll get a faster, more complete response from the experienced brains of over 1000 forum members, nearly all of them 750 turbo owners.

Once you are registered please introduce yourself here, either in this thread or start a new one, up to you.

Keep your posts related to the bike and your experiences of it please. If you want to have an argument about politics, religion etc there is plenty of other social media available where you can do that, this is not the place. And no porn please, there is plenty of that on the web already. If you have a registration or forum related problem please email me lorcanparnell@gmail.com and I will attend to it. Please DO NOT email me technical questions about the bike though - post your questions on the forum so that everyone can reply and learn from the replies.

Enjoy the site, and your turbo :D

Howday everybody, been in and out of the site for some time and thought it was time to get legal!

Own 2 750 turbos 1 x 84 & 85. Just finished rebuliding the 85 all standard. Next the 84 is gettin it as FBM would say! Already have upside down front end and ZZR 600 wheel, for the streetfighter. Can't decide on 810 or 880 kit for engine at present or what turbo upgrade I'll do. Hope to access a digi camera soon and will post pics. Excellent site Lorc - cool upgrade

New member and turbo owner

Post by usableclassic »

Hi there, I have been half looking for a tidy turbo sinch going on the back of one aged 16 (1987). I have had hundreds of cars and bikes but never a turbo bike.

I found my bike by chance in a local add and like most other adds that I have followed up expect to find a basket case, which for an old z1000 is never a real problem but for a turbo I generally have given it a wide berth.

Anyway, I picked it up on Saturday, with a new battery, (been stood for 18 months) 15 miles in 2 years.

Its completely mint other than turbo being removed due to oil leak..! and broken during removeal. I have been in touch with Craig ay Turbo Dynamics and think I need a new inlet housing. Any one got a spare?

Nice site by the way... :D
Justin - At long last a 750 turbo owner..!

Hello everyone,

I'm Jim Short and I reside in Sacramento, California. I've had a great time lurking on this wonderful site for a few years now but only now took the time to register.

I've been associated with 750 Turbos for a lot of years but did not own one until a buddy of mine blew a piston in his. He was tired of fixing it and sold it to me for a song about four years ago. We've been trying since then to get the bike competitive as a daily driver/weekend 1/4 miler.

The bike as it now sets is an 880 with everything done to it except for HPU's intercooler setup. Just this past Friday a custom intercooler package was completed. Used a Bell 6" x 12" x 3" core with a new Earl's oil cooler welded to the bottom. Ducting is 1 5/8 from turbo to the intercooler and a full two inches from the intercooler to the airbox. (removed the stock ducting into the airbox and welded in a two inch aluminum connector) The tanks aren't pretty but I was under the gun for time.

I've also added a two inch snorkle intake topped with two inch inlet K&N filter. As mounted, the air cleaner tucks back out of spray from the front wheel.

The bike is suspended as I write this from supports in my garage. I'm in the process of adding a ZX7R front end and a 750 SRAD rear end. I'm not using a gear drive on the wheel for a speedo and have settled on a Nordskog GPS speedo. It's accurate to 410 kph (255 mph for us USA types!) they tell me. What it means to me is that I don't have to bother with recalibrating the speedo when I change sprocket ratios. I would have liked an analog dial but that version only reads to 257 kph.

Oh yeah, the reason for the snorkle air intake is to insure the turbo intake isn't blasted with salt. My buddy and I with two other turbo lover helpers are taking the bike to the WOS meet at Bonneville this September 13th thru the 16th. We will be running 1000cc class, Modified production, Turbocharged, and Fuel. Or as the entry plate shows; MP-BF 1000cc. Plate number is 6407.

Wish us luck!

Hi Guys,
Cool site!
First post...here, anyway.
Been riding for 38 yrs (since I was 4...grew up in a mo-mo shop).
Have 9 bikes presently...many "projects"...mostly 'old school' stuff that appeals to ME.
I had an '84 Turbo...total roach of a bike...I'm going to try to get it back as I sold it to a friend while I focused on grad school. This thing was (still is) totally Kawasaki racing green, had a bashed tank that had a pin-prick leak :D ...used to spray me in the face when I hammered it...I know, pretty squirrely  ...
Anyway, I've got a plan to get the Turbo back as well as an '83 GPz1100 that it's setting next to...if I can just keep from having more kids, I should be able to pull it off.
I'm trying to finish my ELR (clone) project before I go spreading my cash out; inverted forks and 17s...just want it to be my daily driver that can keep the little-bitty wifey happy.

Again, cool site.

Hello I just tripped across your site , and glade i did . I just got a lead on a 84 turbo, that a buddy has in the shop for turbo repair, and will let me have it for the shop cost owing on it.
I talked to the shop owner , he said it blows a lot of smoke, and needs about $2000. to make it all right.(can$)
I am going to see it this week, to see what kind of shape it is.

correction, you have to click on the faq link, which takes you to the old style page, and then click on the faq button at the top on that page.its a tad confusing for simple minds like mine.

its not sposed to be like that, the faq table is missing from the database , I cant restore it yet until I find the backup containing that faq table. I hold my hands up that when we moved server I backed up the forum (a few times!) and forgot about the db driven faqs..
It is a fortunate side effect of the complete dissaray of the webroot that the old one is still there while I sort out the faqs proper!
