HI,
Ok so we fit PCs to our bikes so that we can use bigger injectors and refine fuelling but no where does it mention TPS adjustments with this setup or does the TPS now become irrelevant, I'm asking this, as again I had big trouble with my bike at the dyno yesterday and the operator kept on saying the mixture was rich, way over the scale rich, this is what was happening:
Start the bike it idles fine, take up the in revs all good then turbo kicks in really smooth until 6.5/7k revs then the engine starts to misfire/cut out badly for a fraction of a second big cloud of black smoke from the exhaust and then it comes alive again runs for a couple of seconds ok then does this again, let it off the throttle and the bike goes back to idle and seems to be fine but force it when it's running like described above and the engine eventually dies and will not start again for while, leave it to rest for 30 mins and it will reluctantly start again, so my question is does the TPS although there is a PC on the bike, need to be adjusted as in my mind if you fit larger injectors there will be more fuel all across the range compared to the original injectors and the TPS will have to be reset, or have I got this all wrong here.
Thanks.
Chris.

Re: PC and TPS related question
The fueling can all be adjusted by the PC,although when I went from 310cc to 370cc injectors my bike would not idle so I moved the tps to get it to run and then began work changing the PC.
I've tried growing up, it just doesn't work for me, so I'll go on enjoying my childhood.
Re: PC and TPS related question
Well I started reading through all the PC threads and I think I've found the answer to my problem, the zero throttle was badly set and the 100% was slightly out as well. Before making the change earlier the PC at idle was showing 44% throttle and the green lights on the PC were just under the zero line, though the bike ran ok, upon opening throttle slight black smoke came out of the exhaust and when throttle was closed backfiring occured and I guess that when the bike was given full throttle there was just too much fuel for the engine to cope with, now with the values reset at idle the PC shows lean all the way down on the green led display, no more black smoke from the exhaust and it displays on the laptop 1 or 2% on the throttle, had to reset TPS position as I had messed with it and the enigne seems much more stable and smooth. Could anyone please tell me if the problems I mentioned previously were caused by the PC throttle positions being badly set, it's now been twice I've gone home with my tail between my legs from the dyno and my confidence has been knocked back but I will not give up

Re: PC and TPS related question
It sounds like you're on track...these bikes test you for sure, you're not alone.

Re: PC and TPS related question
Got it sorted, went for a ride today and no more bucking bronco for me
, the engine is behaving beautifully and running sweet, will get it dynoed in a couple of weeks from now, as I will be away on holiday, and post the results then.
Re: PC and TPS related question
Glad you got it sorted, but in answer to your questions it's ideal if you can set the TPS back to the stock position (and the fuel pressure too) as this gives you a good baseline to work from. And yes you need to follow the instructions regarding setting the high/low boost levels. Set these once and leave them, because they affect the whole map.
First to 200mph (2006) and still the fastest (211mph)
Quickest turbo-only 8.69 @ 162mph
Quickest turbo-only 8.69 @ 162mph
Re: PC and TPS related question
Thanks, stock fuel pressure regulator is back on as you had suggested before and TPS is as near as possible to stock position, the 0 and max boost settings had been done but I guess I had messed it up, didn't need to suck on the pipe after all atmospheric pressure was good, well it was a bit of a nightmare but always best to learn the hard way IMO then you don't mess up again
