Wow, just got to say that there's so much good information in this thread. Makes me think that I could give it a go one of these days, if I followed the steps here.

Someone should seriously publish this stuff. Electrics, suspension, turbo units, all of it. It's like 'how to hotrod a Model T', except for it being a motorbike. Just brilliant. Well done everyone!

First thing, is the page 1 guide you refer to applicable to PCV's? I think that it is for a PC3. :popcorn I may be wrong as I have not read all the pages recently.

Second, when it was initially installed, it drained the battery and needed to have a relay installed. This may be due to the way it was installed, the way the instructions tell the user to install it which will work on a Beemer or may not be avoidable. No idea. :( I removed the relay and put in a switch to isolate the battery. Sort of works, but now I have intermittent battery warning light flashing when riding. More looking into it is required. Mang and I have much the same issue and both have the same PCV unit.

Here is a note I found on some forum, just as a bit of a hint/tip which may be of use.

15 years ago when I installed PC3 to my first turbo build, I also had battery draining issues.
I also used the voltage convertor resistor method from 0-7v to 0-5v to use the stock boost sensor.
I think this is the source of the battery drain.

Possible solutions:
- Maybe a diode will work.
- Just install a second bosch MAP sensor.
Take one of a car or order one for 50 bucks. Those are 0-5V on almost all cars.

I've used one to reference boost retard to an ignitech ignition on a different turbo bike, works fine.
Why not add a second one as input to the PC3?

You may well be right, but I don't understand WHY a simple resistor circuit would cause battery drain. I'm no electrician though!

yes, I did that too

Connect a T-piece to the pressure hose from the original sensor and fit a universal 5V map sensor to the PC3 or V.
Then both have the same control pressure, only the original one gets up to 6V and the other (to the PC) up to 5V...that works perfectly
