Does anyone have any experience with using a filter in the oil supply line? With all of the turbo issues related to trash in the oil, this seems like a good idea.

Hi Ed,
The oi filter will not stop micro particles we have seen in the break in of engine. At 40 micron most particulates at break in are like size of metallics in paint looks like swirl mixed in your oil when Roger & I did these checks on both of Scotts 810s some years back. This is when we went to a get the engine hot on first start up and maybe 10 minutes running and dump the oil and change it out. Then again at 50 miles give or take a few. Then good to go first few hundred miles. This process does work and the only issue is on fresh built motors breaking in. Not so much trash in oil as it is break in seating of the rings to cylinders. Check with Roger for verification while he is doing your engine build.
