You wrote: "The wires are screw off to the plug on both they are clean and good condition."

How's that? They don't press onto plugs? Excuse my ignorance, but have they swivel-boots, or must they be disconnected at coils and spun off the plugs?
Are plug boots molded or do they slide up the wire to inspect your wire core to threaded connector interface? I'd like to see pictures!
How old are these screw-on plug wires and how do they Ohm out for consistent continuity?
Do you use dielectric grease anywhere?

Have you tried starting the bike in pitch black to watch for 'arc-faults' at the battery, coils, boots, pickups, igniter, etc.?

More conclusive coil and ignition/spark testing procedures here:

Pick-up coils do fault. Check it out Bro'! Other video links to right on U-tube = potential food for thought. Keep us posted? You'll find it!

sorry my phone wouldn't submit anything I tried to post and finally got in front of a computer. I bought a factory supplemental manual from a guy for gpz550 (I have one of those also) so using the electric diagnostic chart they have made it a ten minute process. It was the pick up coil (tested everything else also tested good) When I get my next pay check I will be buying a replacement and hopefully be taking the bike down the road. Thanks for the help.

Good suggestion RI'. PartZilla: Contact 877.473.4595
IME, best to verify 'in-hand' by having them check the stock room before ordering to avoid limbo back-order delays.
Used unit from a reputable seller may'ave been tested. Should refund if it's NG and you ask before buying.
They rarely fail except when broken in crashes so good odds it'll outlast all of us if in working order.
Nationwide search is another option if your preference is NOS. Just let us know.

Misc ZN700 parts for reference (no pulsing coils): http://www.ownster.com/index.cfm?type=P ... erm=zn+700

turbo750ny, Were you able to find pulsing coil composite housing cracks or irreparable wiring at point of PC entry? May sound 'shade-tree cobleresque', yet Devco plastic epoxy or soldering may be a solution and easily re-tested while your sourcing a replacement. Been done.

Ri', Wishing you're right as 'turbo750ny' mentions having a GPz550 in the string opener that has 59026-1026 COIL-PULSING. Early on I cross-referenced thinking he may'ave been able to do a quick swap in for testing. Numbers non-matching, but gave it a shot. 2WheelPros isolates 59026-1026 exclusivity with 550 & 750 where-as 59026-1058 COIL PULSER is exclusive to the 700 as compiled below. I don't know what the difference is, yet couldn't verify cross-application with the 1026 and 1028 anywhere. Maybe simple as case variations and/or rotor offset to pickup framing alignment or connectors.
I'd gladly experiment by modify a disposable spare for chuckles and to avoid forking out the dough if successful.

I recently had a similar issue on a NA GPz 750, tried everything, finally decided to take whole wiring harness off and swap with another. In the process I discovered the connector to the fuse box was gummed up with some nasty white stuff. So for me, take the bodywork off and disconnect everything. Clean all the connections and plug it all back together again. Then go through the coil, igniter, pickups and swap for known good ones. Stuff rarely fails its usually a shit connection somewhere.
1984 ZX750E1 (needs a few little bits), 1984 ZX750E1 being built (810 motor on the floor), 1986 GPz810 (Debben head, turbo chassis, longer, lower, dirty and black), 1995 ZZR1100 D3, 1987 GPz750 in black, red and silver.

Hello, I don't think it is a problem with wiring. I so far have replaced the harness as this one also had melted grounds (after doing three they are quick to do at least between all the bikes). This harness was in very good condition. The bike ran in the beginning of the summer fine on all 4 but had a fuel issue. It stopped running on all 4 and had no spark so I dropped it off had the carbs cleaned and tuned. Since them it has gotten a wiring harness, coils, and ignition which all check to spec. So this is it (I hope).
As far as the 550 it's in excellent condition and wouldn't swap it to anything even if it was the same

So the new news is no news. No change. All connections cleaned, went through the book and everything is to spec. Hell even threw in a few new plugs. It's got nothing. The only thing not checked is the handlebar start button but I assume since it makes the bike turn over it is working?
Thanks
This really sucks

Same brand plugs installed?
I'm sure we've covered tip-top battery.
Stabs in the dark are all we have at this point.
No doubt! Many of us have also been to ignition hell.
I am as confused as a fly hovering over 3 fresh piles of shite.
Must'ave missed the post where the pulsar came and was installed.
How many miles on the bike? Worn ignition switch pathways have also been known to interfere.
The start switch only triggers the starter. The key switch energizes the ignition system componentry.
Try researching spark plug firing issues and ignition issues on a forum where the ZN700LTD is well known.
Some brands of spark plug are mysteriously dis-functional in certain models due to head material composition BION.
It's seeming more like something unique to this model. I've seen similar oddities with specific models of other makes/models.

Again; "Have you tried starting the bike in pitch black to watch for 'arc-faults' at the battery, coils, boots, pickups, igniter, plugs, etc.?"

swap the feed wires to the coils from one to the other ,observe whether the problem swaps from one pair of plugs to the other or not.
