what did u use in the end to allow 30psi runs?
I have a regulator on the line going into the map sensor. I carefully set the pressure just below the 24 lb cutoff.<br>

Tony,
I would say that the resistors you have got will be fine, the current drawn by the PC will be miniscule.
You won't actually be changing the voltages going to the ECU at all, just those off the "centre tap" to the PC, so there will be no change to the stock fuelling etc...

Again, I haven't tested this!!!.....

All tested. Works great.
First to 200mph (2006) and still the fastest (211mph)
Quickest turbo-only 8.69 @ 162mph

Hi Lorc

When we met last (Woodbridge) you said the ecu was not liking the high voltage coming from the boost sensor. what voltage did the ecu not like. what psi did this relate too. what have you done to sort this out.

Hi

Just a thought

If one of the resistors was changed for a pot, could the voltage be changed on the fly. The reason would be if the ECU increases the fuel the more the boost pressure goes up this could be a way for me to get some fuel adjustment as well as the pot on the cut race mode wire.

Any thoughts or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Does the ECU increase the fuel amount as the boost pressure increases....thats the big question.

Hi Jeff, whether the ECU is still increasing the fuelling above 26psi isn't known, but certainly the ECU doesn't like seeing 30psi and flips the DFI warning light along with the boost sensor failed code putting the ECU into "get you home" mode. The sensor is a 0-8v unit. M6ntl sorted me out:

1) a split divider resistor arrangement so that the power commander sees 0-5v not 0-8v

2) a diode with resistor so that the voltage going to the ECU is capped at 6 volts - this equals 26psi. A simple resistor or pot wouldn't work (or wouldn't be as good) because it would throw all the mapping out below 26psi.

Lorcan, could you send me the details for the zener diode/resistor, please?

driveablility

Post by Piney Power »

i'm guessing probably not but has anyone fitted a pc to a bike they still use as a streetbike? just curious as to whether or not the driveability has been affected. i suppose the expense & trouble
to get 6 more psi of boost on a streeter would not be worth it.

pc3 usb

Post by old BTN »

good evening folks

does anybody know what wire goes where for a usb pc3? I,ve just had a look at the one I just got from a gsxr750 & it has fourteen wires, I expect that it has extra wires for a quick shifter but some of the other wires dont match up to wire diagram for the non usb pc. can anybody help?

wire colours I have are
brown
gray
orange
yellow
red
blue
green
black
black/white
white/blue
white/brown
white/orange
white/yellow
white/gray

thanks in advance if anybody can help

:D got it sorted now. the two extra wires wernt connected when I pulled the back off the pc,
yellow, green.blue orange were inj inputs, white/yellow white/green white/blue white/orange were injector outputs from the pc. black, black/white were earths, red +12v & gray for boost.

roll on next summer

Hi

Just fitted a PC with the wires reversed as per the wiring drawing on page 1.

The injecters a 384 @ 40 psi.

Bike run well. Apart from it way to weak on over run and pops alot and when the throttle is reopened it stutters a bit until the mixture returns to 12.5 and.....

The thing I can't sort is the throttle persentage right across the top of the map grid reads

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 100

instead of

0 2 5 10 20 40 60 80 100

I can't work out how to change this.

When i load a fresh map with the correct numbers the program throws a message up that the TP setting do not match and will not let me down load the new map complete only the numbers in the grid.

Any advise please

Jeff, just check for me that with the engine running the throttle position reads zero or a minus figure (probably around -35% from what you've told me) and with 30psi applied to the boost sensor it reads 100%.

Hi

The Zeros appeared when I either reset the PC of downloaded an old map. Either way Lorc found out for me I have to load the updated firmware. But the Firmware needs a gizmo to do this. This gizmo an't in the UK so I have brought another pc and am waiting for it to turn up. When the Gizmo turn up in the UK i will try and update the firmware on that PC too.

Keep you posted.
