Re: PC V
so you work with the tps-signal instead of the Boost signal (like the PCIII)
why you do so , cannot the PCV work with the Boostsignal (grey wire) ?
please inform me :-)

Re: PC V
On every other bike except the 750Turbo, the pc's grey wire connects to the bike's tps so it can add fuel as you crank the throttle open. That doesn't work for us using the pc3 because every time you turned the boost up or down you'd have to remap the bike. So we attach the the pc's grey tps wire to our boost sensor and go from there. That seems to work just fine for everyone including me.
Since the pc-v has those other inputs I just thought I'd try connecting the grey wire to the tps and the boost sensor to the auxiliary input only because that's how their designers originally intended it to work. And because I'm having fun.
I've already piggybacked a newer 0-5v tps and have only to connect it. The oem tps might have been able to be utilized using some diode/resistor rig but it was simpler for me this way - extend the throttle body shaft, and mount it in place, done.

and inverter is usually a small 8 legged chip, needs 5 colts, can be bought for 12 volts if memory serves me right, takes an input and inverts the output, but then again, I am an electronician, we tend to thing in wriggly waweforms....

Re: PC V
I had a similar argument with the dyno guy at SPR about TPS and Boost sensor. The best way I could explain why the TPS signal is not much use is because the turbo can reach full boost at less than full throttle opening and the cylinders will be full despite the angle of the TPS. To all effects and purposes you are at full throttle once you hit full boost so you need to map fuel supply to that and not TPS.
There's more besides, joyrides and a little house in the countryside.
Get the balance right.

If you want to send me your PCV I can make the voltage work in reverse. you can email me at dusty@dynojet.com

Re: PC V
Any updates there piney, Got a pc5/ auto tune, that's going on my lastest turbo project. What Model TPS Did you use, and did you just drill a hole thru the plastic on the end of the kawasaki tps and put a extension/adapter on the end of the shaft to connect the other tps. I'm looking at using a ford tps off of a mustang, they seem to have the best mounting holes, and come with about 2 inch of wiring to splice into.
Re: PC V
Ok As I recieved no reply from piney on this I went out and started the process on my own. After buying a power commander v and a autotune for I started out with the idea that adapting a second Tps switch was the was to go as I didn't want to have to depend on a tuner to set the map for the bike with the boost signal as the reference. After adapting a second tps switch to the throttle body rack, I found that the spring pressure of the second tps switch was enough to prematurely close the stock Kawasaki tps switch enough to screw everything up. After many differnt attempts to modify the stock rack to acceppt different tps switches, I became extremly discouraged with the whole process, and called dynojet to find out if they could rewrite a firmware for the pcv to reconnize the reverse signal from the stock kawasaki tps. well after many calls to them, I was told that if you manually plug in the values, and not use the reset button on the tps cal. page that the newest software/firmware would allow you to set up the pcv for the reverse voltage After downloading the lastest versions of both i found that the newest firmware version would not allow the tps sensor voltage to be displayed. After many attemps i found that the pcv with firmware version V0.1.4.0, and software version 1.0.3.2 will allow you to set the tps switch to 4.910v throttle closed and .019v open (on my bike) as the tps signal. Long story short is that with the PCv you can use the grey wire as the TPS signal, and the boost input as the Boost input, thus making it easier to take to a dynajet tuning facillity, or use the auto tune with out confusing the tuner as much. Not to mention not having to deal with two TPS switch adjustments. :rockbanana

Good job Grumpy!
With 3 kids, a business, a separate job, and a naggy wife I don't get to play as much as I'd like.
Sometimes I go out to the shop to work and go riding instead!

Re: PC V
With whatever versions of software/firmware I was using, it would not accept manual (inverted) entries of tps values.
I just downloaded the versions you listed and will plug in again when I get a chance.

Re: PC V
Do you mean the two oil line ports on the front of the oil pan? I drilled the passage and capped those ports when I fit the intercooler and eliminated the oil cooler.

Re: PC V
So I'm planning to use a PC V for my turbo bike with the TPS to the tps wire and the boost sensor to the aux input like Grumpy.
Before I buy one, does anyone happen to know if the PC 5's are all the same like the PC 3's ? (except for the plugs ofcourse)
