What is the best/ safest way to swap those.
Should I press and swap the stems?
Thanks

Re: Zx11/ZZR11
When I swapped mine, I cut the 11 stem flush with the lower clamp and inserted the Gpz stem in from the top. Then laid a really nice weld bead between the two stems on thr bottom.
I have pics in my Photobucket account but they apparently don’t want me to share them as there’s no links showing…
You might need to go through early posts of my build thread and see if they’re in there.

Well, apparently the pics aren’t in my build thread on this forum, however, I did find them in a other forum I’m a member of.

Also, you may have to play with the steering stops as the fork tubes may hit the tank before the stop is hit. I ended up welding an extension plate under the original GPz tab. You could cut off the Zx11 stops and use custom steering stops made from a bolt and spacer.

Lastly, the Gpz steering stem OD is smaller than the top triple clamp’s ID. I turned up a small, thin top-hat spacer to take up the space.

Hey Doug,
Thanks for the pics.
It looks fine to me. I will probably do the same. I will figure out the "top-hat" spacer.
