Some of the cheaper MS that i've looked at like Microsquirt are more or less set up for batch injection which is the case on the turbo of course. I do not remember the specs of which MS systems have a certain amount of banks of injectors setup. Either way all we need is one injector output bank to control all of themArktasian wrote:One of the squirters over on MS had a comment on engines of similar design to the Kawasaki- a Suzuki 750, that I am not at all sure applies but will mention for the fun of it.
I assume due to the Kawi having all its injectors wired together, and firing together batch style that there is not individual or "location sensitive" behaviour by the stock ecu attempting to balance out individual cylinder needs? In other words, at any given point on the stock fuel map there would be one injection duration or MS of fuel that operates each of the 4 injectors identically?
That's my take and confirms a rather easy approach towards alternate control etc.

My older (& cheaper) V2 version of MicroSquirt actually has two separate injector circuits that can have fuel delivery individually tailored to conditions ( multiple injectors on each). The BMW boxer engine doesn't really have imbalance issues hence I've not bothered to engage with playing with it. Now a Harley twin with the cylinders staged one in front of the other is a candidate. MS3 product allows many injector circuits.
One of the gurus over on MS forums spoke up and advised this isnt a concern or area that requires "special" tuning.
So, back to a pretty simple process/ potential

just as clarification, in an earlier post i said i thought the ignition sensors on our bikes where hall effect type ,i was mistaken , they are actually VR (variable reluctance ) sensors.
they will still interface with mega/microsquirt fairly easily . i will edit my earlier comment

Well, that would seem to jive with the wires (2) you can just see coming from each sensor in a photo of Georges engine.dazbo wrote:just as clarification, in an earlier post i said i thought the ignition sensors on our bikes where hall effect type ,i was mistaken , they are actually VR (variable reluctance ) sensors.

Typically a tougher signal to gain reliable sync at the lower rpm's such as cranking etc. Better sensor for the hot engine environ in my opinion and the signal can be conditioned quite easily. The "IC Ignitor" must have had some of that designed into it?
