Project bike has to go. SOLD.

Isn’t life a bitch. Things for me and the family have gone from bad to worse.
I was hoping to hang onto the bike but no can do anymore, I won’t have the space to store or finish her off.
I’m hoping to stay around on here and one day maybe get another turbo.

I would like £2k for the bike and all the spares I have.
Buyer to collect from Paignton,Devon.

I will leave it advertised on here for a few weeks and then I’ll be putting it on the the usual places like eBay, gumtree and Facebook market place.

So what have I done.
Replaced all rubber seals,
Replaced all gaskets,
Replaced all roller and needle bearings,
Replaced all crank shaft journal bearings,
Replaced all big end bearings,
Replaced valve stem guides,
Replaced valves,
Replaced valve stem seals,
Replaced primary drive chain,
Replaced cam chain,
Replaced piston rings sets,
Honed out cylinders and skimmed head,
Replaced throttle body to head rubbers,
Cleaned all injector,
Replaced new fuel pump, ( walbro)
Oil pan mod done along with race mode.
New stator coils bought (not yet fitted)
Points and generator cover plates bought (not yet fitted)
Swing arm bearings replaced,
Zr750s rear shock fitted,
Zxr750 h1/h2 front end fitted,
Zr750s rear wheel machined and fitted,
Frame and engine all repainted,
Cylinder exhaust studs replaced,
Clutch basket rubbers replaced

What spares will come with the bike.
2 fuel tanks
2 complete cylinder heads
3 sets on cam shafts
ECU
Tail piece
Side panels
Hand side rails
Chrome rear grab rail
Belly pan
2 Ali blades
2 sets of original forks (1 set of fork legs painted)
Original Lh silencer (small dent and has been painted)
Original RH silencer (internals rusted out but external still good)
Spider pipes
4 turbo chargers
Intake pipe’s from turbo to plenium + new intake pipe from joint to plenium.
L and R hand foot hangers (L/H hanger powder coated)
2 crankshafts
2 cam chains
Primary drive chain
Air box to turbo tube
Air box
1 set of connecting rods +2 spare
1 starter motor
Fuel tank/seat bracket
New manual cam chain adjuster
Zxr400 rear shock
Bailey dump valve
Over £100 worth of gaskets
New Generator and points cover aluminium end plates
set of ignition,fuel cap and seat lock with key
Approximately 40 shims of different sizes ( some new)
Hydraulic clutch lever, new hel hydraulic hose and new hydraulic ram to change from cable operated clutch
+ boxes of other items such as coils,alternators,starter relays,fuel tank light displays, fuel sender units, fuel tap and return, rear light,mirror,original shocks x2, other gear box shafts including oil pump,gear selectors.

IM NOT GOING TO SPLIT THE SALE.

Thanks guys, hoping it won’t take to long to sell and will probably be more gutted to see her go than selling my other one last year after all the time I’ve spent on getting it all sorted but at the end of the day it’s only a lump of metal and family come first.
I’ve still got the versys so I can still do my fund raising for the armed forces bikers charity when I get chance.

Wow Ted sorry to hear about your bad luck, the tanks and turbos must be worth 2k at current markets. Somebody will get a real bargain there.

Huge amount of parts Ted and bargain for a job lot. I guess you wanted a straight deal. These parts have dried up on ebay, which I watch and don't see them come up any more. And when they do they're eye watering prices. You're buyer has been very lucky. I was tempted but would have probably ended up hoarding them. We're an ageing population of enthusiasts and have to balance having just enough parts to see us through. The bubble on classics will end at some point but lets hope its a while longer just yet. I have ECUs, CDIs, turbos, cranks, heads just in case, to keep me going. Its just the insurance to keep the dream alive and not for getting payback, because one day they'll just get chucked in the bin for sure when we all off this mortal coil.

And for now...the 750 turbo was the last but probably the most iconic bike of the air cool era. Huge performance, still keeps up with modern superbikes in a straight line, handles like a trolley basket at Tesco's, smokes, stinks, ticks as it cools, eats fuel, needs enthusiasts care, colour scheme unbelievable, rare, consumes huge amount of time, makes you drink beer trying to figure out how to keep it running, often presents itself with a list of niggles to sort after every ride , stands out more than any other bike in the garage...what else would you want?

Ted so sorry to hear of your difficulties. We met at JapFest a few years back and the 750 turbo.com members put up a good show. Hope things work out and you can get back to owning a turbo at some juncture .
