Couple questions.... (clutch / fuel)

Anyone have any luck fitting a non E1/E2 fuel level sender to the turbo? Maybe a GPZ 750 or 1100 sender?

Clutch is slipping so I am trying to order friction plates. The parts break down shows seven plates but the Kawai dealer says there are eight. He brought up the breakdown on his computer and we both counted seven. He scratched his head on that one.

I got six plates from Partzilla and waiting for the dealer to get a couple more. I'm still riding the bike so I haven't taken it apart yet to see EXACTLY how many plates there are. But I ordered TWO more for a total of eight, just in case.

So... how many plates are there?

Cannot say I have tried, but the float on the NA 750 is flat/horizontal as opposed to the Turbo one which is tall/vertical. Probably could be modified to fit, but not going to fit as a straight swap. The underside of the tanks differ due to the beefed up backbone of the Turbo frame.

For some reason, I thought I read on here of someone modding a reproduction Z1R fuel level sender to fit. You may need to dig a bit deeper with a search.

Someone on here had one (sending unit)and sent it to be rebuilt I think In new york. I can't remember how many plates put a lockup on mine no more slip ... Done.

Turbo Supplement Manual says refer to base manual, noting the following exception.
