Brake caliper decals

How to make your turbo good as new, and keep it that way

Brake caliper decals

Postby JezZedexE1 » Tue Jun 16, 2020 4:38 pm

IF I have enough interest I will be getting some more of the caliper decals made as well as the engine cover badges. If the "turbo" ones are made, they may be on a silver background. The red is a bit of a problem colour.

I am just about to place an order for some more sets of the Black background with gold text (E1) and the Silver background with black text (E2)

Here is the thing! They will be made using 1mm aluminium as opposed to 0.5mm. I cannot see this being a problem, if anything a bit more robust.

One other thing is they will be done using some fancy new technique as opposed to printing, making them a lot more durable.

Any thoughts about the thickness appreciated. :popcorn :beer

Just want to know if anyone would be interested in these.

1mm thick discs with photo-anodised finish. Apparently will resist anything and everything, including brake fluid.

Either the E1 or the E2 style. I do have a possible third option which is "turbo". Colour options for the 3rd option unknown at the moment. :popcorn

This is what the last ones looked like. I would like to think this photo-anodising process will be at least as good, if not better/neater.

Downside is the price will be about £18 for a set of three plus P&P.

Hey Jez

Those things look fantastic. I don't need the brake caliper emblems because I will not be running the stock calipers but I am interested in the engine covers. Mine are custom now and I JB welded them in place so to get them off is going to be a task but I am thinking of eventually returning them to the OEM style emblems. I did not see a price for the engine covers?

Thanks for all your work on these. :victory

It's to bad Kawasaki never made new badges when they made the turbo. We know the turbo carried the GPZ badges, even though Kawasaki never refereed to the turbo as a GPZ.

As things stand, with such a low level of interest, I probably won't be getting any made for a couple of months. The company I have been talking to is going to be taking delivery of a new type of printing machine and all being well the unit price will be lower than the last price quoted.

If I do have enough interest in the next few weeks I will go for it. If not I won't, as I do not want to sit with 10 or 20 sets and be out of pocket by a fair amount.
