Fuel pipe return
Hi, can anyone please help? I am rebuilding my bike but I have a problem with the return fuel pipe (between the pressure reg and the non return valve on the tank) When opening the throttle the mechanism hits the pipe and restricts opening the throttle fully. The pipe is in the correct place and it is the same pipe that came offf. Any help appreciated, Blake.

Re: Fuel pipe return
Is it this 190mm long pipe?
Here is how mine sits (E2 bike). Not really close to the throttle cable. Image taken before I started restoration.

Hi Jez, yes that's the 1, looks the same as in your pic. But when I open the throttle the tube restricts it.

Re: Fuel pipe return
There's a plate on the throttle bodies that holds it away from the linkage. Is it a E1 or E2. I think they are different. I found on mine I still needed to give it a bit of a wriggle around to get it in the right position so it didnt rub.
You should try to know everything about something & something about everything.
Re: Fuel pipe return
There was a factory recall when wide open throttle was done it would hang up on something somewhere on here i posted it.

Re: Fuel pipe return
There is a difference, as mentioned, between the E1 & the E2. Single & dual cables. My bike picture is the E2.
. . .
Have you got the bracket installed? .

Re: Fuel pipe return
Thanks Jez, all I know is its the same pipe that came off, everything is the same, have moved things around, moved the plated, put it behind, in front, put the plate on 1,2 and 3 and 2,3 and 4 and whatever I do the throttle linkage catches the pipe after 1/3rd or half throttle opening.

Re: Fuel pipe return
Post some pictures so we can see how it is. Maybe we can then spot a possible cause. I presume you are talking about the throttle body mechanism! Is it an E1 or an E2?
