Charlie @ Evergreen wrote:Hey Fabio if my lil counter keeper is correct its right at 141!! I haven't posted every turbo like used to but put one up now and then. See them come in pretty regularly which is amazing after the first couple years was a huge rush on HT10s I thought they would fall off. But there are many bikes coming back to life. How cool is that !! I think there are more of these bikes left then we realize..there just mothballed in some building around the world.

Probably like me they couldn't find a dependable, reasonably priced & reliable person to fix the turbo's etc. on them.

Think your right on Fabio, I heard many stories of it got parked as Kawa wanted to much new when they were available and rebuilders were charging 5 to 600 for them. Thats crazy pricing as I can tell you seen over 50 easy that were rebuilt and nothing done but clean up parts and put in new parts in wore bores and shaft journals. That lives a short life. Love seeing more on the road. Great for our beloved 750. :beer

Pretty when they come out of the dirty water. Replaced Back Plate, Compressor Cover while machining up the rest of the turbo clean up specs.

given good spares availability that corrosion damage is easily sorted ,presumably if there were no available spares it could be welded and ground back, but if there was no option but to use it as is what problems would that cause do you think??

Gotten tha hang of it for sure! :thumbup

Well the cause is from water contamination probably housing filled half way with water as the housing & seal plate were on the bottom half of the turbocharger where the corrosion is evident. Still have about 40 compressor covers left. Seal plates probably about total, some still standard spec, many will need plus .010 seal to work. What really short on is bearing housings & turbine shafts. Working on machining up new seal inserts as have about 50 of the bearing housings with bad seal areas. Withe the new seal insert that can be machined /pinned to the bearing housing then just need to Line Bore the Bearing Housing plus size journal bearings. Turbine Shafts if it comes down to it can modify Garrett T-25 Turbines to replace the HT10 and have done about 10 of those so far. So hopefully can keep repairing our HT10s for some years to come with no problem. :beer
