Hi

Post by Stoneman »

Hi , just registered , have a passion for 80s and 90s Jap bikes , have 8 of my own , recently bought a 83 turbo in good mechanical nick , will be doing a restoration on it , have to say this site is a wealth of good advice and knowledge and I will be making use of it in my ignorance as it gets taken to bits and reassembled
First question is exhausts, the factory cans are hmm, iterior of one is shot, black chromer will not re plate used mufflers so its gut them and have slip in baffles made up , or was thinking of a set of Marvin exhausts, mentioned on here the GPZ 750 cans are nearly identical, and close inspection seems to confirm this , perhaps with a bit of welding regiggery with the mounting brackets ?
was thinking of getting a set and black chrome finishishing before use
Anyone done this ?

Hi and Welcome!
Check on Malcom Cox's post on new production style black chrome mufflers. He may still have a set available to sell as he made 100 sets I believe.
Think the only difference in the N/A vs turbo was the cone inside and can be changed out? Someone can verify for sure!

Hi Stoneman and welcome to the gang. :beer

Have a look at the sets being made as suggested. Alternative options are discussed elsewhere. Ask the question in the appropriate section so we can add some ideas. :thumbup
