2 For 1 Turbos Gods As Talked !

Postby SRV01 » Thu Oct 03, 2019 7:23 am

Greets guys and thx for having me on this great forums full of resources & wonderfull Helping Hands Long live to 750turbo.com
As a intruduction i was a Kawasaki Dealer reseller in the 80's and i had the chance to put peeps on these wonderfull Gps Turbo during those 2 years of the turbo's

Now at my 58 years old i had the clinch to ride this Turbo bike again or at least restore a prestine one to the detail specs if i can ...

To make a story short but it worth to check it out if you have times avail...
i was looking in the adds for a Gpz 750 Turbo and find somes left & right i saw one that was 300KM for $8500 in January but it was 8 hr's away in Ontario CND
Welp i give up on it and also on the project since the ones avails was not complet originals or had too mutch millage on it
in august i start to look again for turbo's and found that 300km bike surface again but this time it was at 30 mins away
and meanwhile another one show up at $8500 in Albeta with 2800km

So i the one at 300km the guy was asking $15,000 for it now once i was on the phone with him i ask him if it was negociable and he was saying no dealing on the phone
i told him i can get one for $9000 from Alberta ship to my place so my budjet is not 15K for this bike he say if you seriours show up and we can move on for dealing
so i show up the bike was prestine but had somes work to do on it EX: gasket & clutch dampers and the bike had to pass a inspection so i dont know what happend but i was
about to trigger on it at 12K and retract my self cause these bike ares not yet a 15k or even 12k

So i pass on it telling the guy thx but i can get one cheaper for $9000 shipped from Alberta he ask me where i saw this bike for this price i told him what add place it was

Best thing that i know when i contact the guy in Aberta for his bike at $8500 he was saying that the bike was not avail anymore at $8500 it's now at 13K
telling me that the guy who i back off from 300km the deal call him and told him to not selling me the bike at the price he was asking for before

I was piss that this *&^%$ who get into my deal so anyway i had the sorry feeling that... "it's what it's" if you not ready to have it's because it was not there for you yet!

So i gave up on the project once more after a week i was so upset that way it turn out that this tiem i check again just to see if there a god after all
and find one that posted since 55 mins ago at with 20Km asking $2900 for it

So i jump on it like a dog on his bone :) Now it's mine im a prowd owner of a black & red thingy !
Well the bike was all there and in good shape but never runs for years at least 15+ yrs abd had rust issue in the tank
but it was a nice canvas to start with then the project was geees ... these parts ares not avail on the corner street i better try to find a solution
quick for my project so the next week i check again in the add's and there was another 750 turbo for sale
but this one as noting to do with the 750 turbo we use to know it was a regular GPS 750 none turbo 1983
but the nice thing about this bike it was all there but this time dressup as as 750 turbo with all parts like a real 750 Turbo
all is missed the lower fairing portion and the color the rest it's a 750 turbo

So im sorry this story is longer that i want but this second bike cost me only $1600

So total for my project is $2900 +$1600 = $4500 for 2 bikes Not (*&^%$# 15K or 13K So (*&^%$# Loosers Turbos God as Talked !

Here's the result of Mother Turbo Spirit

This is the 750 Turbo at 20Km for $2900

Hi Mate.
Looks like you did pretty good with the buying. :)
Just check the advise/info on here about the clutch rubbers, oil pump etc before you even think about starting it!
You should try to know everything about something & something about everything.

What a story. The 2 others can sit a long time and the dirty player well... that guy is just flat greedy.

Good luck on your build. With all that extra money you saved you will have a very nice 750 when your done.

Looks like it has been near salt water area's. Once you check the system make sure it is not oil fouled thru the turbo/plenum/exhaust if it runs good with out smoking you may be ok. Most usually do need rebuilt if the dampers have not been replaced and original. You will find out once you start getting into getting your 750 running good. As mentioned seems to be the theme if you do the basket, oil pump and RV, inlet boots to TBs with turbo you can usually run many miles trouble free. :)

Did you say the second bike that was 1600 was a regular gpz750 dressed as a turbo ?

It actually looks to me like its a turbo dressed as a regular gpz750.

That red one is a strange thing! Looks like all turbo gear in NA frame at least or possible whole NA bike & painted NA scheme :catfight
I thought the turbo version had to have more room behind the front wheel for the turbo stuff to fit properly? & whats the red thingy attached to the RH side of the turbocharger? :popcorn

Hey Mate.
Just have a look under those tanks.
Turbo & NA are different.
The turbo has the return valve on the rh rear and more room under for the thicker frame. Just compare the "real" turbo with the pseudo turbo to see if that's got a turbo tank on it then flip over that tank on the "new" NA That shouldn't have the return valve & the turbo's dont use the vacuum tap like the NA either. People have bought NA bikes with turbo tanks fitted. Unlikely but possible.
You should try to know everything about something & something about everything.

The bike you have for parts looks like an A1. Top fairing and mounting brackets are different to A2-5 and Turbo. :( :popcorn
