Haven't posted much for a while, so I thought a few updates would be in order.
The Zeph has been a bitch all year, contant elecy gremlins, have prevented it from doing hardly any miles. But that said, I think I have sussed out the issue and its running again......just.
I did this big rewire the ...

Re: Bead Breaker
Ive been using that method to change tyres for a few years now and can vouch that it works fine. I wedge the end under the rear of my van whilst pushing down and it takes a fair bit of force to break the initial bead.

Re: High capacity oil pump
Only just noticed this thread after being away for a bit. Interesting stuff :) :) I knew the Zephyr's used the same size pumps as the turbo as I had a couple of pumps lying around. Kawasaki did do some changes to the ZR7 engine mainly to get it through the noise and emissions regs. Didn't know about ...

Re: Return of the Boner
Cool
It'll be great to see the bike coming together, even if it takes a while.
Are you going to run your old boner engine in it ?

Re: Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment
Generally the Kwak tool isn't used by most guys here.
Best way to set TPS is to warm engine up and then whilst running turn the TPS each way in small amounts until best and smoothest running is achieved. Simple as that.

Re: top end motor rebuild
I found ring compressors a PITA when doing the rings on my 750/810, there just wasnt enough space to use the tool properly. Sure when installing pistons from the top they are fine.
Make sure there is a reasonable chamfer at the bottom of the bores and the rings slide in with a little help from a ...

Re: Stock headers - what turbo would you run?
Bit late I know but to fit my T25 I bolted the headers up to the head minus the HT10b, then offered the T25 up complete with wastegate actuator in place. This gave me an idea of the angle needed to cut the old flange off the headers. It definitely needs canting out by about 10 degrees or thereabouts ...

Re: Smokin' project
Real shame about the blow up
Be interesting to see some pics of the engine components once its all apart though.
I agree with Lorcan about the head. Bound to be some bent valves at the very least.
What revs was it turning at?
Which oil do you use?

Re: Better Brakes
I had a set of 6 pot toks on the Zeph before I changed the forks. They worked very well indeed. That said these calipers do go bad as the design allows water to get in behind the seals and then corrodes the alloy groove. After that the seals simply don't work as well. New seals are useless and the ...

That looks well nice Fluff, the whole bike not just the bellmouths

Re: Nology ignition wires for 750 Turbo / GPz
Site mentions stuff about capacitors in the cable. I can't see how this would work at all. A cap needs time to charge, albeit not long, (longer than the spark duration of modern ignition systems tho) and so would not function properly.
