I run plastic bushes in all my rebuilds since mid 90's. Even in my race bike. I use a plastic called oilon or Nylacast the green version as its impregnated with a type of grease.
https://www.nylacast.com/components. The green one is right for us.

Re: Injector Query
Just for the record, the NA cam will not give you any more power, your best bet will be to get a Turbo cam back in.

Re: Injector Query
The base circle on a NA cam will be bigger so the Turbo valve must have been moded or installed at a different height. The chances of now fitting a STD Turbo (Z650) cam straight into the head will be highly unlikely.

Re: Are the turbo heads indenticall to the 84 asperated?
To start with the 650 heads were NOT used on the 750 turbo, just the 650 cams.
The NA heads off the GPz750a series are the same casting but machined differently .
That is, the bowls are machined out more so no squish band to stop detonation.
The extra machining is to allow for the higher section ...

Re: Another day at the dyno - 200mph but a hollow victory
The purpose of the day was to check out all the recent changes. Best run was 175mph on a standing mile. Our problem is we lose too much speed on gear changes. Also i think we are running a little rich.
To be continued!
Have you found an air shifter yet?

Re: Broken Off Gear Change Boss
Yes and no, I opened up the hole so I could tap the case so it was belt and braces.dazbo wrote:nice solution jeff.
did you also open up the hole in the case to clear the thread??
I screwed the new boss into the case then tightened the nut onto the inner face of the case.

Re: Broken Off Gear Change Boss

You do really to do a proper job.
I have used Q-Bond with good success but that's when I have the broken part to glue back on.

Do you want a drawing then...Charlie @ Evergreen wrote:Really nice work Tack!! Gonna be a good fix for many cases...I have several like that!
Yes that would be great! I won't be doing it but the guy in TN that machines these cases will most likely be happy to have it. Thanks!
