Re: Starting a laid up turbo

not a big deal. So long as there was no sandy debris or metal dust around. Really good chance any debris got slammed against the surge tank wall and fell to the floor of it. Ive had it full of water before :humour
If it ran it ran... so thats good. :thumbup

Re: Tyres

the new Michelin Pilot Activs... in stock sized of course. Just be sure to get the V rated ones.
Those tires work really good on stock wheels. There is a reason why the aspect ratio should be maintained and there is absolutely no need to go to a wider rear.

Re: Recommended hone types

... I prefer the ball hone. This is another one of the questions that is like the oil question. I prefer the ball hone and that is what I use. Problem is, you have to have one for every size bore you will do. So some people like the expanding tri-pod like stone hone. Probably nothing wrong with tha...

Re: Starting a laid up turbo

drop the pan and filter first. 99% chance a junky fram filter is in the housing. Get a hi flo unit. About $3 more than a fram. You can pull the plug boots and build pressure prior to firing. There is a port on the right side you can take pressure readings from. Definitely do the new pump/spring upgr...

Re: Rear Shock Restoration

Lots of modern suzuki and kawi rear shocks drop right in. The OEM unit is garbage. When Jim Lindemann... one of the greatest motorcycle suspension guys to ever exist (RIP fella)... said "Its junk"... then you dont have to fret over replacing it. A proper 3 way adjustable unit makes the bik...

Re: Enjoy folks

Fast forwarded to about 5 mins then had to shut it off... its 2020. How could those crusty motorcyclists NOT know what peak torque is??? Or even basic turbo theory? When the fella says "This H2 makes power everywhere"... um ya think? Its power adder is driven off the crank. Then the commen...

Re: Perhaps not the first in the 10’s ?

This is all very interesting and makes for swell pub banter. The Ienastach connection from back in the day is awesome. Check out this thread from 2011. A guy calling himself “TurboBlew” speculates the E1 PeeWee was riding was a ringer. http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/fastest-production-moto...

Re: Fitting tyres

this is the problem with youtube... you have folks with nary a clue demonstrating the improper ways to do things. Many moons ago I told a shop owner "I dont know how to install a tire"... he asked if I had replaced a bicycle tire. I replied "Many". That was all I needed to know. ...

Re: Question

they used to have a weekly meet in Jacksonville. Lots of geriatric fellas. Not many young guys. None of them owned leathers or had ever ridden a closed course. They are what I classify as pedestrian riders. Lots of CBXers and CB owners. They have an annual show at World Golf Village... though it was...

Re: fuel tank wanted USA . Tennessee

getting stuff fabricated isnt easy , Ive been trying to get silencers fabricated since 2017 - starting to get there now - , the turbo tank is stamped in 2 halves, welded and ground, then welded to the base - its a hell of a shape on the side, full of concave and convex areas - just prepped 9 tanks,...

Re: fuel tank wanted USA . Tennessee

that linked Ebay seller does nothing but sell junk. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. Also this seems like a good time to let you know I had intentions of getting moulds made for turbo tanks from a very qualified fabricator... and ZERO folks in the US showed any interest besides myself. 4 members from ...
