Re: New silencers / mufflers

I seem to recall and have heard it since that black chrome is hit and miss. Sometimes you get good ones as you'd expect and other times the finish looks bad immediately or goes bad very soon after it's got hot. It's not a reflection on Malcolm, that's just how temperamental this finish is. Perhaps M...

Re: New silencers / mufflers

I suggest you try and compare the silencer bracket positions between the old and new you have.

Re: New silencers / mufflers

I might have not heard this correctly, but with the H-Pipe removed and attempting to just mount the silencers on the footrest hangers...If the pipe is hard against the footrest preventing the two bolts going in, then that suggests the bracket on the pipe has been either welded on too low or at the w...

That bike looks in a familiar state, how can people let them get like that.
You'll have great fun restoring it.

Re: Bitten off more then I can chew?

Hi, Oil seeping past the turbo bearing and leaking out is quite common. Charlie sells a check valve kit that stops this. I highly recommend it. Now you have oil leaking from the turbo, you're likely to find it has travelled throughout the induction pipework and plenum, check these and clean them out...

Re: Sat for 20 years

Just to mention sometimes the fuel cap gives a problem with venting and causes the fuel tank to pressurise. If you have any futher problems, look up the fuel cap modification on this forum.

Re: Anti-dive

I know the one you mean, I bought a set from Adrian who sold them on this forum. I've kept them for spares but i can measure those too and send the sizes over.

I contacted Adrian just now, he doesn't have them anymore, he sold all the ones he had around 2018.

Re: Anti-dive

The x ring, I assume to be the seal which is a moulded seal onto a metal ring? If these are what you mean, they were discontinued from Gpz Zone kit some time ago. I had to re-use mine. I kept the parts I removed on the last rebuild. I'll measure the orings up in the week when I get into work. Howeve...

Hi again, Saw your other thread. And didn't know that Gpz Zone had stopped trading, that's a shame.

Re: Hi, thanks for allowing me in

The anti dives require regular attention. Some people remove them and fit a blanking plate. However the blank needs a channel linking the ports on the fork leg otherwise the forks won't dampen and the seals will blow. The plate can also be fitted between the anti dive and the fork to give an origina...
