Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
Took it for a 160km spin today burning through 9L of V-power.
About halfway I adjusted the TPS so it's idling at 14:1 instead of 11.5:1 A/F.
After doing that, the bike ran way better in the lower range.
Quite a lot better responsiveness from idle to 4000rpm and the turbo picks up better at ...

Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
Finished welding up the tank and got the bike riding again. ;)

Shiniest place on the tank  .

Did some highway cruizing at ~150kmh and it seems to run at 14:1 A.F at steady throttle.

Evapo-rust rust remover fueltank!
Left it in for a week, moving the tank in a different position every day, except upside down.
That's why the top is still rusted with crud. All submerged sections are clean.
Fueltap, sender, paint etc. all still ok.
Pretty good stuff!
Tank was not filled afterwards because I found a leak ...

Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
Well I cut open the tank, to replace the bracket section which was leaking and previously soldered.
Nice to see the EVAPO-RUST stuff really did wonders on the inside.

It’s a known issue. George w on here welded up my last one when he painted it for me. Weak link so to speak. One of my other bikes has some kind of jb weld or something similar, This is what it looks like from factory.
Thanks a lot for that.
I guess the seams started to leak ...

Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
I was still getting rust from the tank in the filter and at a certain point it even clogged the reserve petcock intake, so I decided to de-rust the tank.
Tried "Evapo-Rust" after a vid on youtube by Ed-China showing promising results.
Turns out the stuff works great but unfortunately I discovered ...

Re: Installation instructions
I have a PCV, for a BMW S1000RR 2010-2014, and will get a few images posted later. :thumbup
First thing, is the page 1 guide you refer to applicable to PCV's? I think that it is for a PC3. :popcorn I may be wrong as I have not read all the pages recently.
Second, when it was initially ...

Re: Por15 remover
Unfortunately most of the sealers are there for life, especially por15. It's an epoxy and nothing will desolve it. The strongest solvent would be methyl ethyl ketone, (plumbers solvent), but even this won't budge it.
For epoxy there is epoxy remover available. Tankcure is based on a 2k epoxy ...

Re: runs to rich
Isn't it better running rich with a Stock turbo and racemode, than lean without?
Within reason.... too rich will cause bore wash and fouled plugs.
It should idle around 13.0, cruize around stoich (14-15) and when accelerating run down from stock to 12.5 a/f at stockish boost levels.
Most ...

Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
Went for a testride today for 2.5 hours and I must say what a blast the bike is to ride!
Turbo starts to spool at 3500 rpm and is building 10psi just over 4000 rpm already with really good response around midrange.
But also the handling, the bike corners beautifully and is very relaxed and stable ...

Re: 810 Terbo hotrod
I installed the fork extensions, but it wasn't a ride in the park.
It seems the internals of my fork were modded and the threads were different, so I had to make extension spacers for below the cartridge.
Also, a ring in the middle of the cartridge was +0.2mm larger than the new fork extensions ...

Re: Sealer on head gasket ?
On my latest build I use Loctite 3020 spray on all layers of the MLS gasket and the head.
It should close small imperfections, which my head surface had a few.
It was recommended to me by a friend who rebuilds Porche engines.
