JD11

Post by Lorcan »

We were at Judgement Day 11 yesterday, Jeff (Tack1000) was having problems with his bike going rich and cutting out which he eventually traced to his oversize injectors. With the stock injectors back in he knocked out a couple of 10.7s but then heard a loud metallic noise, which turned out to be the alternator rotor which had fallen off. I had the same thing happen on my old dragbike, anyone like to guess what the cause is?

He should be back in action today.

Poor fit between taper on crank nose and rotor innards. Ive checked a few out for fit and contact surface between the two and they were a bit ropey, but I'd put it down to wear and abuse. Maybe theyre like that out the factory.

Just lap it in place with some lapping compound and use some blue to check the high points till a good fit is achieved, then you wont even need a bolt to hold it in place...

Hi

Thanks to Lorcan and Mikb for all the help over the weekend. Did not feel like you are all on your own so much when ideas can be bounced about..

Thanks again....oh thanks also to Mike’s mate for dinner..

The motor is still in one piece but when I did the flyers the mixture when right weak.....maybe blocked air vent. Will check this week.

The 10.15 was great but the engine cut out in 4 so I coasted over the line at 125mph. Begs the question, how would I have done with out the cut out? What did I do so good to get such a good start and mid section? Cose I could not do it again even when the engine did not cut out. The joys of draggin.
