 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
Okay so I have this here little old PCIIIr and it has a 16 pin plug on it. 9 of them go straight through so they mean nothing in the long run and that leaves me with 14 of which I imagine only 7 are really relevant as it is seven into the unit and seven out. I still harbour fears that the gixer is an 8 injector model but hopefully it is too old for this. Some of the wires or at least one would be for the 'r' - ignition which I don't think will be used and so I have 6 wires to make use off. Attachment:

So I have the following wires; Male plug: Blue Yellow green orange black red grey Female Plug: grey white/black white/yellow red white/orange white/blue white/green I've emailed Dynojet for assistance regarding wiring but in the meantime if you have any advice please don't hold back. One last thing. Does anyone know which pins on the serial 9-pin are for the 9volt battery?

Never mind, it seems to match the same one that Lorcan posted in the install thread. I hope to Feck they have not changed anything. Attachment:

So, should be pretty easy then... right? RIGHT? I'll cut off the 16 pin connectors and fit a pair of 8 pin connectors, and the same on the loom so changing out is quick and easy.

Let me know how you get on Phil as I'm thinking of going balls out on the Turbo I picked up the other week (not that I'm not having fun on it at the moemnt using it daily for work!) Cheers Steve

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
I'll run this thread as a progress blog Steve.
So, wiring breakdown is as follows; Male plug-----------------------Female Plug:
Blue------Injector -------------white/blue Yellow----Injector--------------white/yellow green-----Injector-------------white/green orange----Injector-------------white/orange black-----Earth----------------white/black red-------Switched +12v-------Red grey------Boost Sensor---------Grey (to Pink on Loom)
The Injectors are common on the loom and so there should not be any need for identifying wires per injector.
Is the GSXR1000 01-02 model sequential injection? I hope not.
The grey 'Boost sensor' needs a few little bits of cleverness added ( Donations gladly accepted).

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
Are you sure it's the R version? It all looks straightforward, except the R should do ignition as well (on the Suzuki), and I can't see any wires for that. Not that it matters to us, I'm just curious.

Yes, but so are all modern bikes. It doesn't matter to us.

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
Thanks Phil, is there not a list anywhere of PC's that have been successfully used on the Turbo? so people know what models to look for
Cheers
Steve

Got it cheap enough so if it is a mistake it is not an very expensive one. I read on a forum listing that some PCIIIr require an additional module to make use of the ignition control function - but you can't believe all you read on the interweb

Yes, but so are all modern bikes. It doesn't matter to us. Cool, so essentially I should be able to common all the inputs and the outputs for the injectors. According to the turbo wiring diagram (and yours) they are all commoned anyway from the ECU and just split to feed the injectors. Do you think the PCIII will be okay with the injectors commoned? or should I still feed them individually. The PCIII won't know which injector/cylinder needs adjustment anyway so it cannot make cylinder specific changes correct?

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
I would keep the injector outputs separated. It probably doesn't make any difference but that's the way the PC is designed.
USB versions have separate ignition modules.

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
Thanks Lorcan, I'll keep the injectors seperate. I'll ask on a suzi forum if anyone knows the wiring diagram for gixxer so I can try and relate the correct injector wire to the PCIII. The PCIIIr is for the K1 & K2 and I found this diagram for the K3, looks promising and may be just the ticket. http://wotid.com/pictures/albums/userpi ... iagram.jpg

kawasakiman542 said This is a quote from the powercommaander thread; PC3 r for Gsxr600-750 (2001-2003 mod) RED = Power Black=Ground Black/White = Digital Ground Grey = TPS Solid wires go to ECU and Stripe goes to Injectors Orange = Cylinder 1 Yellow = Cylinder 2 Green = Cylinder 3 Blue = Cylinder 4 (This is from Dynojet Research Inc.) There is also a Brown & brown stripe wire from the PC3r[/quote]

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
It looks the same as mine, mine was advertised as GSXR750. It doesn't power through the serial plug, use the red and black wires to connect to a 9v battery or a 12v as on the bike. The 9V has to be brand new. it flattens it very quickly.

 Re: 2001-2002 GSXR1000 PCIIIr wiring
So, graphically this is how I am wiring it in. The connectors will be made off in such a way that they can be unplugged and then plugged into each other to totally bypass the PCIII should the need arise. Attachment:

I was reading this pdf which shows the 9v battery connected to the serial cable: http://www.mpsracing.com/instructions/D ... 08-211.pdf which is why I asked.
