How to fit 750
turbo clocks to ZZR1100 (ZX11) top yoke by Lorcan
 |
You will need:
M6 x 30mm allen screws x2
M8 x 20mm allen screws x2
Alloy blocks 50mm x 38mm x 18mm x2
Tame monkey (machinist) x1.
Conveniently, the turbo ignition switch fits straight in the ZZR
yoke in it's original location. Using the adaptor blocks below
means you can mount the clocks in their original position, which
looks tidy and retains the swivel adjustment to suit different
riders by keeping the original clock mounting bracket.
The drawing on the right shows the right-hand block. You will need
to make a left hand one too as you can see from the pics. Apart
from being a mirror image, they are the same, and should look like
this:

The angle machined on the bottom
of the L is important as the holes that the bolts go into are
angled. Unfortunately I can't tell you what it is exactly, as mine
were arrived at by trial and error, but the drawing on the right
was traced around the finished block so should be close enough.
Remove the two allen screws that hold the ignition switch in
place, and refit using the M6 screws which also pass through the
hole in the bottom of the blocks. Once tightened, the M8 threaded
holes should line up with the original clock bracket. You will
need to notch the bracket a little on the left side, to clear the
ignition switch cover that the ZZR has.
